Certified to National Organic Standards Dr. Bronner's lotions are based on pure organic oils free of petrochemically modified ingredients and preservatives. Organic jojoba oil moisturizes dry skin exceptionally well due to its unique similarity to the skin's natural oil. Organic coconut oil assists absorption while organic hemp and avocado oils help keep skin smooth and supple. Organic grain alcohol (ethanol) is used as a natural preservative at a level that helps absorption without being drying. Only the finest organic essential oils are used for fragrance.

Most of their products are organic and have absolutely no synthetic or even partially synthetic ingredients.
Even their primary surfactant is 100% natural.
In addition, they strive to support fair trade with many of their products and some of their bottles are even made from 100% post consumer waste.

Pros:

Most of their products are fair-trade, completely non-synthetic and exceptionally natural, safe and effective.
Most of their bottles are readily recyclable and some are made from 100% post consumer waste.
They make some of the most sustainable products in the industry!

Cons:

With a small portion of their products, it is not clear if they include fragrances or natural oils.
Additionally, their shave gel squeeze tube in not labeled for recycling, so therefore is not recyclable.
