• We see it all the time by many big name online, discount retailers... they list some products below cost (their loss-leaders) to make it look like they have great prices, then steer you towards other products that are at and often above (sometimes well above) suggested retail.  Typically, you're not be aware of this because they intentionally take products that are not as easily "price-shopped" then slap on an over-blown "suggested retail" price, followed by their "discount" price to make it look like your getting a deal when in essence you are getting scammed. 
• Keep your eyes open. You might be surprised to find out which stores are doing this. If you notice a retailer engaged in this type of activity, you have two choices:
• Stay on your toes and purchase only their loss-leader product, or...
• Make the choice to take your business elsewhere and support fair-priced, ethical, sustainable retailers.
